5269 PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE VOTERS OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, THE QUESTION OF ISSUING $2,600,000 SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE SYSTEM BONDS

, s . , , 2 maps and repo�rts have heretofore been approved by the Council and are now on file in the office of the City Clerk and available for public inspectioa; and 4�hiEREAS, this Council of said City has heretofore estimated and does hereby estimate the cost of the construction of said improve- ments and ext�nsions to the existing system of surface water drains� I including the cost of the acquisition of necessary lands and easements, to be not less than $2,600,000; and WHERfiAS, fund� are not available far the purpose of paying the cost of making tl�e improvements and extensi�ns to the existing system of surface wat�r drains as above zeferred to and it will therefore be necessary to borrow money and in evidenae thereof issue bonds of said City for the purpose of paying the cost of making such improvements and extensions as above referred to and before bonds can be issued, the question of issuing such bonds must be submitted to the electors of the City and be approved by a majority of the electors voting on the question at an election called for such purpose: NOW THEREFORS� Be It Ordained by the Council of the City of Decatur, Macon County, Illinois, as follow�: Section 1. That it is hereby det�rmined to be in the interests of the public health of the inhabitants of said City that necessary improvements and extensions be made to the exi�ting system of surface water drains of said City, all as referred to and described in the preamble hereAf, and far the purpose of paying the cost thereof it will be necessary that this City borrow money and in evidence thereof issue the bonds of said C�ty. Section 2. That th�re be borrowed by, for and on behalf of said City of Decatur, the sum of $2,600,000 for the purpvse of paying the cost of the construction of said necessary improvements and e xtensions
