I
AD4-1 HOLDING EXISTING POLES
V
' 4.01 Some existing poles may need to be held by the power company
while we are installing the new main. Are fees to hold poles
waived since this is a City project or is the contractor responsible
' for paying them?
There has never been a need to hold local power poles. If you feel
1 this is necessary, include the price for holding a pole in the per
foot cost of the water main installation.
' AD-5-1 EXISTING UTILITIES
5.01 Is the proposed running line of the new water main able to be
adjusted to avoid digging in close proximity to the existing gas
main&existing water main? We like to stay at least a couple of
1 feet away from parallel, existing utilities if possible.
Gas mains are usually installed close to the property line. The new
' water main is going to generally be in the street so it is not
anticipated to experience a conflict. If a conflict is discovered, the
new water main location can be adjusted to avoid the conflict.
AD-6-1 CULVERT REMOVAL
6.01 If culverts need to be removed&replaced at the driveways and/or
road crossings, will that be paid for at a unit price or is it
' incidental?
The water main is on the edge of the paving to avoid culverts. The
removal and replacement of culverts will be incidental to the per
foot cost of the water main installation.
AD-7-1 BID ITEM#41 (PAGE 18)
7.01 Addendum#1 added Bid Item#41, 8"Line Stop to the bid form.
However,there is already a Bid Item#41 (Mulch,Method 2).
Please advise.
Please include a price for both items.
