Subcontracting is not required for a City project. Otto Baum will be subcontracting 30%of the <br /> work, 6%of which will be with a minority contractor. Otto Baum provided documentation showing <br /> a good faith effort was made to comply with the City's goals. <br /> SCHEDULE: <br /> Following approval of the contract by the City Council work on this project shall begin after a <br /> "Notice to Proceed"has been issued from the City. The Concrete Street Improvement project is <br /> scheduled to be complete by October 13, 2017. A final project report will be prepared for Council <br /> at the end of the project. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact: Funding for this project is allocated in the Local Motor Fuel Tax Fund and the <br /> Storm Water Fund. Catch basin casting replacements will be funded out of the Storm Water Fund <br /> $90,034. It is proposed that a total project expenditure of $1,382,317.48 be authorized which <br /> includes $1,292,283.48 of Local Motor Fuel Tax money and $90,034 from the Storm Water Fund. <br /> This amount represents the low bid amount of$1,382,317.48. <br /> Staff Impact: Staff time has been allocated for this project in the Capital Improvement Plan. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution and bid award. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley,Public Works Director and Matt Newell, City Engineer. <br /> Richard Marley will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the <br /> Council on this item. <br /> This memorandum was prepared by Griffin Enyart, Civil Engineer 11. <br /> LEGAL REVIEW: The project plans and specifications were forwarded to Legal and approved for <br /> bidding in March 2017. <br /> Attach: 4 <br /> cc: Otto Baum Company <br /> Kinney Contractors, Inc. <br /> —4 — <br />
