RESOLUTION NO. 2023-_gp_ <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF <br /> 1421 EAST ORCHARD STREET, DECATUR, ILLINOIS FROM WOODFORD <br /> HOMES, INC. TO OLD KING'S ORCHARD COMMUNITY CENTER <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Decatur, Illinois, executed a Memorandum of Understanding <br /> with Woodford Homes, Inc., a not-for-profit entity that partners with the Macon County Mental <br /> Health Board, in October 2020, whereby Woodford Homes, Inc. agreed to provide a Warranty <br /> Deed to the City of Decatur, Illinois transferring property to the City of Decatur, Illinois located <br /> at 1421 East Orchard Street, Decatur; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Decatur, Illinois, desired to acquire 1421 East Orchard Street, <br /> Decatur to be used for transitional housing; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Old King's Orchard Community Center, desires to acquire 1421 East <br /> Orchard Street, Decatur to provide transitional housing in support of the Juvenile Redeploy <br /> Illinois program and similar programs requiring access to transitional housing; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Decatur, Illinois, supports Old King's Orchard Community <br /> Center's acquisition of 1421 East Orchard Street, Decatur for such purposes. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1.
