The summary report
will contain the following:
• Number of full inspections
• Number of external inspection only
• Number of properties that were not inspected, either denied entry or no answer after three(3)
attempts
• Documentation of findings and results
• Recommendations for 1/1 removal
Deliverables:
• One (1) letter to local residents on City letterhead.
Is Private Property Inspection Results(see Task 8—Report)
Task 5: MANHOLE INSPECTIONS
Manhole inspection consists of physically inspecting sanitary sewer manholes to provide
documentation of structural condition and 1/1 defects.AECOM will verify mapping, manhole locations,
pipe sizes, material, orientation, and manhole condition. AECOM's standard manhole inspection form
will be reviewed and modified to comply with the City's inspection requirements. Major defects and 1/1
sources will be recorded on video and digitally documented with digital photographs of each manhole,
including location of defects.
Based on our measurements of existing City GIS data, the Ellen/Division project area is comprised of
approximately,120 manholes. The entire area(up to a maximum of 120 manholes)will be inspected.
As the manholes are inspected, the field crews will not only document defects, but also sources of 1/1
that allow clear water to enter the sanitary sewer. Recommendations will be made for replacement,
rehabilitation, or repair. Rehabilitation efforts will be prioritized so that the most significant defects can
be repaired first.
As part of the inspection, the manhole location, construction type, cover type and susceptibility to
ponding, surface drainage patterns around the manhole, evidence of infiltration, structural condition,
frame, chimney, cone, barrel, bench, and step condition are noted. Photographs of significant
problems/defects are taken for documentation to assist in rehabilitation design. Additionally, this
verifies the City's sanitary sewer map and actual flow configurations.
In addition, the location of major defects and I/1 sources will be documented and identified with digital
photographs at each manhole.AECOM owns two pole/down-hale cameras to better view defects
observed without the need to enter the manhole.
For the City's manhole inspection and condition assessments, AECOM anticipates utilizing a tablet
computer to digitally track manhole condition for input into the City's GIS system.
Inspection data will be entered into a database, spreadsheet or on a manhole inspection form
modified to include all criteria important to the City. Manhole inspections primarily identify structural
conditions, defects, and UI sources. As part of the inspections, the following items will be recorded:
• Manhole number
