Project Description <br /> The 2018 asphalt project will perform street reconstruction on streets that have deteriorated over <br /> time due to age, freeze-thaw cycles, and traffic loads. Reconstruction involves removing failed <br /> sections of pavement, and adding cement to the underlying soil to stiffen and strengthen the road <br /> base. Asphalt milling and overlay work will occur along streets that have surface distresses where <br /> replacing the surface will help prevent costlier repairs in the future. There are also several concrete <br /> and brick streets which will be overlaid with a layer of asphalt to seal these old roads and to create a <br /> smoother riding surface.
