Exhibit A
Task 00100 Survev and Field Work(overview)
Survey work will include topographic surveys both Lidar and Conventional. Work will involve surveys on
railroad property and will require railroad coordination, access permits and flagger operations and railroad
insurance. Survey field work will also require environmental surveys including ground sampling and boring
operations in support of environmental reports and memos. Survey work will be required for ROW surveys
in support of plats and legal preparation. Field work will be required for geotechnical borings in support of
geotechnical reports. Access to properties will be required and access wilI be coordinated through the City
and or the City property negotiator. An access letter from the City explaining the project and the need for
surveys will be drafted and used for field work.
Task 00200 Phase I Undate—VE CR ABC(overview)
The Phase I design will require modifications as the project was broken up into three segments and the north
segment will need to tie into the existing roadway geometty near the existing railroad subway. Though
initial Value Engineering and Constructability Reviews further cost savings and design changes may be
identified with the overall goal of designing the project to meet the funding limits and minimize impacts to
the motoring public. These modifications will be submitted to the City and IDOT for approval. Accelerated
Bridge Construction techniques will be investigated under this task.
It is assumed that the traffic volumes in the Phase I report will not be modified and will be used for rework of
the geometry of the revised Phase I design including Plan and Profiles, IDS and TSL's.
Roadwav GeometrX
The roadway geometry will be updated to include horizontal geometry tie in between the existing and
proposed improvements of Brush College Road near the existing Norfolk Southern Railyard overpass. This
will include profile modifications to tie into the existing underpass profile grade.
Optimize Current Bridge Design
The objective of this task is to take a fresh look at the current phase I bridge design to optimize selected
bridge type to evaluate potential cost saving options.
Revise Type, Size and Location(TSL)Plans
Based on the above optimization to the bridge structure,it may be necessary to revise the cunent TSL plans
to include feasible modifications.
Value En ineerin(VE)and Constructability Reviews(CR):
Prior to milestone submittals(Preliminary and Final),construction documents will be reviewed by senior
engineers from AECOM,WHKS and QEI(to be led by AECOM)with extensive experience in design and
construction of similar bridges. The intent of this review is to make suggestions to improve the design and
details relative to generally utilized construction practices.
Scope 9-21-18 A_2
