Exhibit A
ABC(Accelerated Bridge Construction)Investi ation-.
The objective of this task is to provide a general outline to determine if ABC techniques are applicable to this
project in order to save construction costs and duration and, minimize the MOT impacts,to vehicular traffic
as well as railroad operations.
Task 00300 Renorts(overview)
Environmental Considerations PESA—PSI—Building Demolition
In 2012 a Preliminary Design Study was conducted to determine the most feasible option to handle future
traffic volumes for the Brush College Road and Faries Parkway intersection and the Brush College Road
underpass of the Norfolk Southern (NS) rail yard located south of Faries Parkway. As part of the design
study a Preliminary Environmental Site Assessment (PESA) of the Brush College Road corridor was
completed.
PESA—PSI
The PESA was conducted over three years ago and will need to be updated. A Technical Memo will be
completed to provide an update to the initial PESA report.
The PESA Report identified multiple subject properties containing known Environmental Recognized
Conditions (RECs)and 20 adjacent properties surrounding the NS/Faries Parkway Crossing Site that do not
contain known RECs but may have the potential for contamination migration.
AECOM Technical Services, Inc. will perform Preliminary Site Investigations (PSIs) for the Brush College
Road at Norfolk Southern/Faries Parkway Crossing overpass project.
BuildinDemolition-Asbestos Containing Materials/Lead Based Paint Survey
Asbestos-Containing Materials(ACM)Survey
AECOM will conduct a U.S.Environmental Protection Agency(EPA)Asbestos Hazard Emergency
Response Act(AHERA)-type asbestos survey of the interior of seven buildings to be demolished as part of
this project.
Lead Based Paint(LBP)SurveX
Concurrent with the asbestos survey,AECOM will collect paint chip samples from representative interior
and exterior building materials. Paint chip samples will be analyzed by a qualified laboratory utilizing
Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS)by EPA Method 6010.
ACM-LBP Letter Re,port
AECOM will prepare an electronic letter report for each building, summarizing the ACM and LBP survey
methodology and findings.
Scope 9-21-18 A-3
