<br /> The Illinois Department af Transportation and the Fecleral Highway Administration require that the
<br /> City approve its own Engineering Services Agreement (Item 3} and a Prelimznary Engineering
<br /> Services Agreement for Federal Participation{Item 4}.
<br /> Funding
<br /> The proposed engineering services fee is $3,349,667. The prel'rminary praject estimate is given in the
<br /> table below. In 2017, the City applied for and received notice of$12 million in Railroad Grade
<br /> Crossing Protection funds far this project through the Illinois Commerce Co�lmission{ICC}. When
<br /> the City received notice of the Freight Program funds, a petition was prepared and filed with the ICC
<br /> to gain access to the Grade Crassing Protection funding that was allocated for this project. That
<br /> petition is now pending before the ICC with anticipated actian within the next 6 months. Due to the
<br /> pending ICC funds,the Freight Program did nat fully fund the engineering services. The Public
<br /> Agency Agreement for Federal Funding will be modified and brought befare Cauncil far amendment
<br /> to the full arnount when the ICC funding is approved.
<br /> Nate that the estimakes provided in Table 1 below, were prepared early in the project development
<br /> and will change as the design progresses, property is purchased, and the project moves forward.
