� INFORMATION FOR BIDDERS <br /> � The 4wner will rr�ake such investigations as deemed necessary ta determine the ability of <br /> the Bidder to perfarm the work, and the Bidder shall furnish to the Owner all such information <br /> and data f4r this purpose as the Ow�aer may rec�uest. The 4wner reserves the right to re�ect any <br /> � bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigatian of, such Bidder fails to satisfy the Owner that <br /> such Bidder is praperly c�ualified to carry out the obligations af the Contract and to carnplete the <br /> work contemplated therein. Conditional bids will not be accepted. <br /> � Each bid must be accampanied with a proposal guaranty either as a properly certi�ed <br /> check made payable to "Treasurer, City of Decatur," Decatur, Illinais, in an amount not less than <br /> ten (10) percent of the bid; or a cashier's check made payable to "Treasurer, City of Decatur", <br /> � Decatur, I1linois, in an amaunt not less than ten {1 Q} percent 4f the bid; or a bid bond on a farm <br /> approved by the City, executed by a surety company satisfactory to the City, in an amount not <br /> � less than ten {l 4}percent af the bid. Such proposal guarantees, of the three lawest bidders, may <br /> be retained by the City far a period of 45 days after the date of the bid opening. Checks or bid <br /> bonds from other than the t1�u�ee lowest bidders wi11 be returned by the City within seven {7}days <br /> � a�ter the date of the bid opening. <br /> Simultaneausly with the delivery of the executed Contract, the Contractor shall furnish a <br /> � surety bond ar bands as security for faithful performance of this C4ntract and for the payment af <br /> a11 persons performing labor on the project under this Contract and furnishing materials in <br /> connection with this Cantract, and ather items required by the Conditions and Specifications <br /> � gaverning the work. The surety on such bond or bonds shall be a duly authorized surety <br /> company satisfactory to the 4wner. Attorneys-in-fact who sign bid bonds or contract bonds <br /> must file with each bond a certified and effectively dated copy of their Power of Attorney. <br /> � 1 r' failure or refusal ta execute and deliver the <br /> The successfu Bidder, upon B1dde s <br /> Cantract and bands required within {10} consecutive calendar days from and including the date <br /> � the Bidder has received notice of the acceptance af their bid, shall forfeit to the Owner, as <br /> liquidatian of damages done for such failure ar refusal, the security depasited with their bid. <br /> Ncrtice of the Owner's intent shall either be hand delivered by the Owner to the Bidder's address, <br /> � as given on the Contract Documents, ar mailed ta such address, first class, United States mail, <br /> return receipt requested. Delivery or mailing of said notice to said address shall constitute the <br /> notice herein rec�uired without the requirement af an acknowledgment af receipt from the Bidder. <br /> � Eac1� Bidder must infarm himself full of the conditians and s ecifications relatin ta the <br /> Y P � <br /> construction of the project and the ernployment of labor thereon. Failure to do so will nat relieve <br /> �r a successfui Bidder of their abligation to furnish a11 material and labor necessary to carry out the <br /> pravisians of the Contract. Insofar as possible, the Contractor, in carrying out their work, must <br /> � emp�oy such methods or means as wili not cause any interruption af ar interference with the <br /> work of any other Contractor. <br /> � The quantities appearing in the bid proposal are approximate and are prepared for the <br /> comparison of bids. Payment to the Cantractor wil� be made only for the actual quantities of <br /> work performed and accepted or materials furnished according to the contract. The proposed <br /> � quantities c�f work to be done and materials to be furnished may each be increased, decreased, or <br /> omitted as hereinafter provided. <br /> � <br /> � � <br />
