SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> SP-5 TRAFFIC CONTROL (CONTINUED) <br /> The Engineering Division will erect "No Parking" signs 24 hours prior to the start of work <br /> on a street, in an attempt to have all vehicles removed from the street. The City will not be held <br /> responsible for any delays due to the City having to have parked vehicles moved. The Contractor <br /> shall furnish the Engineer with suitable hardwood quality lath for installation of temporary "No <br /> Parking" signs. <br /> Basis of Payment: All labor and materials necessary to comply with this special provision <br /> will not be paid for separately but will be included with related work items. <br /> SP-6 LONGITUDINAL JOINTS <br /> Description: Longitudinal joints for finished surface courses of HMA and concrete <br /> pavements shall be between 3 inches and 1 foot off the proposed edge of lane. <br /> Basis of Payment: Cost of the work will not be paid for separately but shall be considered <br /> as included with the various work items involved. <br /> SP-7 RESTORATION AND SEEDING <br /> Description: Existing grass areas disturbed by construction or removal of the various work <br /> ' items under this contract shall be restored by properly filling and grading all disturbed areas with <br /> soil that is properly prepared for seed application and then seeding and mulching the area in <br /> accordance with Sections 250 and 251 of the Standard Specifications for Class 1A Seeding and <br /> Method 1 or Method 3 Mulching as directed by the Engineer. Fertilizer will not be required. <br /> Basis of Payment: Cost of the work will not be paid for separately but shall be <br /> considered as included with the various work items involved. <br /> SP-8 CONTAMINANT CONTROL AND INLET PROTECTION <br /> ' Description: Care should be used to help minimize any sediment or other fine materials <br /> leaving the job site. Any open inlet or catch basin shall be protected from sediment infiltration <br /> using the standards outlined in the Illinois Urban Manual for INLET PROTECTION or by using an <br /> equivalent approved by the Engineer. Inlets shall be protected before any sawing, excavation, or <br /> pavement removal commences. Concrete shall be washed out in an approved lined container that <br /> complies with the Illinois Urban Manual standards. <br /> Basis of Payment: All labor and materials necessary to install inlet protection shall be paid <br /> for at the contract unit price per EACH for INLET AND PIPE PROTECTION. Concrete washout <br /> areas will not be paid for separately but shall be considered as included with other concrete pay <br /> items. <br /> 6 <br />
