Article 5 <br /> Section 1. Hours of duty of employees in the classified police service shall be <br /> established so that the average weekly hours of duty in any year other than hours during which <br /> members are summoned to or kept on duty shall not exceed 40 hours. Duty hours shall be served <br /> by the use of shifts: <br /> First Shift Patrol: 6:00a.m. ta2:33 p.m. (earlyear-s) and 6:45 a.Ffl. to 3A8 p.m. (late ear-s) <br /> Third Shift Patrol 9:27 p to 6:00 a.m. (o.,dy ears) and 10:27 „ to 7•nn a !late r <br /> First Shift Patrol (Dayshift): 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (early cars) and 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. <br /> late cars <br /> Second Shift Patrol (MidShift): 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. <br /> Third Shift Patrol (Nightshift): 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (early cars) and 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 <br /> a.m. (late cars) <br /> Street Crimes Unit: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. <br /> Professional Standards: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. <br /> The City and the Union mutually desire to consider a new shift arrangement and agree to <br /> jointly develep the same prior-to its adoption and implementation. The details of the <br /> new shift arrangement shall be as set fa4h in a Memorandum of Understanding between the Gity <br /> and the Union. <br /> Patrol officers are assigned to a twelve(12) hour workday schedule, commonly <br /> known as the Pittman schedule. The Pittman schedule rotates days on/off on a two week/14 <br /> day pay cycle. The Patrol Division will consist of three(3) shifts. Each of the shifts are <br /> divided into an "A" and "B" squad. One squad will be working while the other squad is on <br /> regular time off. Second shift will be filled as staffing allows and at the discretion of the <br /> Chief of Police. Assignment of officers to a particular squad is at the sole discretion of the <br /> shift commander. <br /> Section 5. Duty Reduction Days: With the 12-hour schedule, members work an <br /> additional 4 hours every 2 weeks (84 hours). To accommodate for this additional work <br /> time, each officer will be awarded one(1) 12-hour Duty Reduction Day every 6 <br /> weeks. Duty Reduction Days will be adjusted/prorated accordingly for members that do <br /> not work a full 6-week cycle. <br /> 2 <br />
