b. As-Built Fiber System Documentation <br /> Provide Registered Communications Distribution Designer(RCDD)approved <br /> drawings and documentation in accordance with TIA/EIA-606-A. The identifier <br /> for each termination and cable shall appear on the drawings. Drawings shall <br /> depict the final outside plant fiber optic cable system in accordance with <br /> TIA/EIA-606-A. The drawings should provide details required to demonstrate a <br /> completely operational outside plant fiber optic cable system. <br /> c. Warranty/Maintenance <br /> All fiber optic cable, terminating equipment,materials and services furnished by <br /> the vendor shall be warranted free from defects in material and workmanship, and <br /> shall conform to this document including those exceptions agreed to by the City. <br /> In the event any such defects become evident within the warranty period,the <br /> vendor shall correct the defect at its option by(1)repairing any defective <br /> components;(2)furnishing necessary replacement components; or(3)redoing the <br /> faulty services. Labor to perform warranty services will be provided at no charge <br /> during the warranty period. <br /> The vendor further warrants that during the warranty period the equipment and <br /> services furnished under the contract resulting from this document shall operate <br /> under normal use and service as a complete system,which shall perform in <br /> accordance with this document and the bidder's response thereto,including those <br /> exceptions agreed to by the City. <br /> The warranty period shall be a period of 12 months from the date of final system <br /> acceptance as defined herein. The City envisions that the completed system, <br /> properly serviced and maintained,will operate according to manufacturer's <br /> specifications for a period of at least 25 years. <br /> Claims under any of the warranties herein are valid if made within 30 days after <br /> termination of the warranty period. In addition,the following specific <br /> requirements apply to the vendor's warranty: <br /> i. All equipment furnished hereunder is new and of current manufacture. <br /> ii. The City shall notify the vendor within a reasonable time after the <br /> discovery of any failure or defect during the warranty period. <br /> iii. Should the vendor fail to remedy any major failure within 8 hours,or any <br /> minor failure or defect within 10 consecutive days after receipt of notice <br /> thereof,the parties shall meet and discuss an extension of time which may <br /> be fair and equitable under the circumstances, failing which the City shall <br /> have the right to replace, repair,or otherwise remedy such failure or defect <br /> at the vendors' expense. <br /> iv. The vendor will obtain any warranties which contractors or suppliers give <br /> in the regular course of commercial practice and shall apply the same to <br />
