Cost of Treatments
shows a cost range for the proposed measures as they appear in the report. Costs are based on past projects
completed by the project team, the design treatment estimating guidelines from New Jersey Safe Routes' , and the
Pedestrian Safety Guide and Countermeasure Selection System published by the Federal Highway Administration. The
estimating guidelines were last updated in May 2022. Therefore, there may be some differences in cost. In addition,
many factors go into the cost of construction projects, and it is not practical to give an exact price without fully
designing the reconstruction. Factors, such as drainage issues, utility relocations, and right-of-way acquisition, can
drastically change the pricing of projects. The following prices are for reference only and are best used to compare
the countermeasures to each other and for high level budgeting purposes.
