This funding will support a series of
community-focused projects designed to make the corridor safer, more accessible, and more inviting for
residents and businesses alike.
The most recent Community Survey revealed declining neighborhood scores in this region, and the
corridor also contains a significant number of city-owned parcels. These factors underscore the urgency
of pairing infrastructure improvements with housing and economic development. To that end, staff will:
• Market city-owned parcels to attract new housing development.
• Revamp side-lot sales program to more strategically further neighborhood revitalization.
• Explore additional revitalization strategies—from facade improvements to focused grant funding—to
bring visible and lasting change to the corridor.
7
