1. Incorporation of Recitals. The recitals set forth in the forgoing <br /> preamble are specifically incorporated into and made part of this Agreement as <br /> though fully set forth in this paragraph 1. <br /> 2. City to Provide Police Officers. The City shall assign two (2) police <br /> officers to the District beginning at the start of the second semester of the 2014- <br /> 15 school year to be assigned to the District's high schools and an additional two <br /> (2) at the start of the 2015-16 school year to be assigned to the District's middle <br /> schools. Said assignments shall be for the period during the regular school year <br /> as determined by the District but typically mid-August through the end of May the <br /> following year for the purpose of providing security at its various facilities. Such <br /> officers shall work up to forty (40) hours per week in the schools of the District at <br /> times agreed upon between the City and the District. The District recognizes and <br /> acknowledges that the assigned officers will, from time to time, have duties, <br /> training and leaves as part of their duties of being a sworn police officer for the <br /> City that will take precedence over District duties and assignments and agree not <br /> to interfere with said duties, training and leaves. The police officers shall <br /> perform the duties and responsibilities while assigned and working in District <br /> facilities, as determined by the City and the District, with due diligence and to the <br /> best of their ability. From time to time the District may provide advice to the City <br /> relative to the prerformance of the assigned officers and their suitability for their <br /> assignment. <br /> 3. Employment Status. The police officers shall at all times be assigned <br /> to serve as police officers to the District and shall be subject to the command and <br />
