Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Authorizing the Installation of Stop Signs at the Intersection of E. <br /> Hickory Street and N. Charles Street Facing N. Charles Street <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizing the installation of stop <br /> signs at the intersection of E. Hickory Street and N. Charles Street facing N. Charles Street. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> On October 23 2014, the Traffic &Parking Commission approved a request from City staff <br /> recommending that stop signs be installed at the intersection of E. Hickory Street and N. Charles <br /> Street with the stop signs facing N. Charles Street. <br /> The Traffic and Parking Commission's recommendation is attached with the ordinance for <br /> Council's review. <br /> SCHEDULE: Installation is normally completed within 10 days of Council authorization. <br /> BUDGET AND STAFFING IMPLICATIONS: Budgetary impacts are approximately$250 <br /> for the installation of the requested signs and pavement markings and approximately 2 hours of <br /> staff time to make and install the signs. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: No objections anticipated. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Traffic and Parking Commission <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director, at 424- <br /> 2747 <br /> Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747 <br /> Richard Marley, Public Works Director, will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to <br /> answer any questions of the Council on this item.
