CONTRACT <br /> Special attention is called to Articles 107.09 and 107.14 and Sections 701, 702, and 703 of <br /> the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge, current edition Construction and the <br /> following highway standards relating to traffic control: <br /> Highway Standards: 701501 701606 701901 <br /> It is the intent of the City that all streets under this project shall be kept open to traffic at all <br /> times except to permit time to cure unless permission is obtained from the engineer to <br /> close said lane and/or street for other reasons. <br /> In the event that it is necessary to close the lane and/or street, the Engineer shall be <br /> consulted to obtain permission at least 48 working hours in advance of the proposed lane <br /> and/or street closing. All appropriate lane closure permits shall be filed with the <br /> Engineering and Infrastructure Department of the City prior to any street/lane closures. In <br /> addition, at the end of every work day the lane and/or street shall be opened to local traffic <br /> unless approved by the Engineer. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to notify <br /> the Engineering Division, who will in turn, notify all forms of local media of the schedule <br /> of street closures for the following week after receiving the approval by the Engineer. A <br /> copy of the notification will be provided to the Contractor. <br /> All additional traffic control as required in the standard details that are not specifically <br /> provided for herein will be considered as included with the various pay items requiring <br /> traffic control. <br /> SECTION 32. Phase A - Polyethylene Pipe Installation <br /> This work shall be included in the contract unit price per lump sum for Mobilization and <br /> Phase A—Polyethylene Pipe Installation, as marked in Exhibit A. The work includes <br /> providing and installing polyethylene (PE)pipe with a minimum pressure rating of DR <br /> 13.5 for approximately the west half and DR 17 for the remaining pipe as shown on the <br /> project plans. All PE pipe shall conform to the current versions of the Standard <br /> Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and the Standard Specifications for Water <br /> and Sewer Construction in Illinois. <br /> The pipe shall be placed on the surface of the ground and appropriately anchored to limit <br /> movement. All driveways, sidewalks and roadways crossed by the pipe shall be installed <br /> in a trench with trench backfill and the pavement restored in accordance with City <br /> Standards. All joints shall be properly welded in accordance with manufacturer <br /> specifications. <br /> Two fusion machines will be required to perform the installation work. <br /> The Contractor shall provide 25 feet of appropriately sized polyethylene casing pipe <br /> through the Norfolk Southern right of way center under the bridge as shown on the project <br /> plans. <br /> If work is stopped by the City due to the recovery (filling) of Lake Decatur,the Contractor <br /> shall provide to the City the actual costs incurred during the mobilization and/or setup of <br /> 10 <br />
