- 18 - <br /> All regularly employed part-time and full-time bargaining <br /> unit employees shall receive the following vacation: <br /> 1 - 7 years - 2 weeks vacation per year <br /> 8 - 14 years - 3 weeks vacation per year <br /> 15 - 19 years - 4 weeks vacation per year <br /> 20 + years - 5 weeks vacation per year <br /> This vacation schedule shall be effective on the date <br /> the Agreement has been signed by all parties . <br /> Section 2 . <br /> Initial eligibility of staff for paid vacation shall be <br /> attendant upon completion of twelve (12) months of <br /> employment . <br /> Section 3 . <br /> After the initial eligibility period, vacation time will <br /> be credited on an annual basis on the anniversary date of the <br /> employee. Anniversary dates of employee shall be the original <br /> date of hire. An employee terminating employment between <br /> anniversary dates will be credited with the amount of vacation <br /> earned up to the time of termination. <br /> Section 4 . <br /> Vacation time will not accumulate without the express <br /> written consent of the City Librarian. Notwithstanding the <br /> above, vacation time will accumulate if the employee has <br /> since been denied vacation requests during two (2) different <br /> scheduling periods and the requests were submitted ninety <br /> (90) days prior to the anniversary date. <br /> Section 5 . <br /> Vacation time may be scheduled in increments of one (1) <br /> hour or more. Management shall grant employee vacation <br /> requests on the basis of library seniority provided the <br /> employee submits the request between January 1 and 31 of each <br /> year.Vacation requests for January must be submitted prior to <br /> December 1 of the preceding year. Vacation requests will be <br /> permitted with less than five (5) days notice. Requests with <br /> less than five (5) days notice will be scheduled on a first- <br /> come, first-served basis and Library staffing requirements <br /> shall take precedence over vacation requests .
