Exhibit A
4. A railroad drainage study will be made to assess existing drainage conditions and assess any
modifications to it that may be needed to accommodate any changes to the alignment or
configuration of the railroad's track that will be needed as part of the project.
Task 00400—Alternate Geometric Studies
1. Design criteria will be established for the proposed improvement. The design criteria will consist of
the following:
A. Establish Functional Classification
B. Establish acceptable Levels of Service
C. Establish the project termini
D. Perform Bicycle Facilities Assessment and establish the accommodations for sidewalks/bike
paths within the proposed improvement.
E. Determine cross section elements; design speed, number of lanes, width of lanes, median
type and width, sidewalk/bike path width and locations, side slope configuration, type and
thickness of proposed pavement.
2. The following conceptual studies will be performed for the underpass and overpass options at the NS
crossing:
A. Establish horizontal alignment of Brush College Road.
B. Prepare conceptual vertical alignment studies of Brush College Road. It is assumed that the
railroad tracks in the NS yard will remain at their existing elevation. The studies will look at
both the underpass and overpass options.
C. Conceptual property impacts and right-of-way needs will be reviewed for each of the options
considered.
D. Evaluate impacts to side streets and develop street closure/access plan.
E. Review overhead and underground utility impacts far each of the options considered.
Coordination will be performed to determine extent and potential options available for
relocation along with associated costs. ADM piping systems will be included in this review.
Exhibits and related supporting information will be prepared for utility coordination.
F. Estimated construction costs will be developed for the underpass and overpass alternatives at
the NS crossing.
G. Prepare Executive Summary with exhibits including typical sections, plan/profile drawings,
aerial plan discussing the data and recommended alternative.
H. Prepare for and attend planning and review meetings
I. Address Executive Summary review comments and prepare final Executive Summary.
4. The recommended alternative will be further developed and refined. The following will be
performed as part of this task:
A. Refine and establish the proposed roadway vertical alignment
B. Establish clear zones,barrier/attenuator warrants and uses to determine clear width of
roadway.
C. Perform cross section analysis to determine extent of right-of-way and easement needs.
Analysis to also establish extent of retaining walls to minimize right-of-way impacts.
Scope 6-4-10 A-8
