Smith, Deputy Chief of Admmistrative Operations ��V" <br /> Subject: BARBECK Communications Service Agreement <br /> Purpose: The purpose of this memorandum is to agree to the expenditure of funds to <br /> BARBECK Communications for the annual communication equipment and technical support <br /> service agreement. <br /> Background: The Decatur Police Department has signed agreements with BARBECK <br /> Communications who provides service and maintenance to the communications equipment <br /> housed both at the MSC as well as within the Emergency Communications Center. This <br /> agreement covers various items of equipment, including the Central Electronic Banks (CEBs), <br /> repeaters, combiners, controllers, etc, as well as the site service agreement. The maintenance <br /> agreement with BARBECK Communications is a regularly budgeted item and paid on a monthly <br /> basis through Communications Center line items. <br /> The maintenance agreement covers the time frame from May 1, 2010 through Apri130, 2011 and <br /> is paid on a monthly basis through the Communications budgeted line items. The cost of the <br /> 2010-2011 Barbeck Communications Service Agreement for the annual communication <br /> equipment and technical support service agreement is $34,488.00. <br /> Recommendation: It would be the recommendation of staff that the Decatur Police <br /> Department to agree to the 2010-2011 Barbeck Communications Service Agreement at the cost <br /> of$34,488.00 annually or monthlv pavments of$2,874.00 to be paid out of the designated <br /> Communications line items. <br /> Attachments: BARBECK Communications Service Agreement <br /> Motorola/Barbeck service status relationship letter <br /> Potential Objections: None Anticipated <br /> Funding Sources: General fund/Communications line items <br /> Staff References: James A.
