£ Safeguard the SDD abainst defects and deficiencies on the part of the contractor, <br /> but the ENGINEER does not guarantee the perfonnance of the contract by the <br /> contractor. <br /> g. Conduct final inspection of construction and prepare final papers and reports. <br /> h. Revise contract drawings to show location and nature of improvement as actually <br /> constructed and supply "as built" drawings consisting of an electronic file copy <br /> and one set of paper prints to the SDD based on record field drawings maintained <br /> by the SDD. <br /> i. Check all shop and warking drawings. <br /> j. Review and check all reports by testing laboratories on equipment and material <br /> tested. <br /> 2. Resident Inspection - Provide detailed Resident Inspection Services, during construction <br /> of the proposed improvements, including but not limited to the following: <br /> a. Establish lines and grades and direct the layout of all work on the ground as <br /> construction proceeds. <br /> b. Provide continuous inspection of the force main work and intermittent inspection <br /> of the pumping station work for compliance with plans and specifications. Such <br /> inspection shall include those services which are customarily refen�ed to as <br /> detailed resident inspection services provided that the ENGINEER shall not be <br /> responsible for the acts or omissions of any contractor(s), any subcontractor(s) or <br /> any of the contractor(s)' or subcontractor(s)' agents or employees or any other <br /> person (except his own employees and agents) at the project site or for the <br /> supervision, direction, control and work safety of any contractar(s) or for the <br /> construction means, methods, techniques, sequences, or procedures ar for safety <br /> precautions or programs incidental to the work of contractor(s) or for any <br /> contractor(s)' failure to perform the construction work in accordance with contract <br /> documents. <br /> c. Keep a daily record or log of the contractor's activities throughout construction <br /> including notations on the nature and cost of any extra work. <br /> d. Supervise all inspectors, proportioning engineers and other technical personnel <br /> assigned to the project. <br /> e. Review and check all payment estimates, change orders, records, and reports <br /> pertaining to the construction activities. <br /> BGM 08-071 C Page 2 <br />
