BARNES CITIZEN BUILDING PARKING GARAGE <br /> TIMELINE <br /> 7/25/07 Letter sent to Glenna Ashley, property manager for Barnes/Citizen Building, <br /> requiring property to be examined by structural engineer. <br /> 8/8/07 Report received from Peter Boyles, structural engineer for Blank, Wesselink, and <br /> Cook, which stated that immediate repairs were needed to avoid further structural <br /> deterioration. These repairs would be a temporary solution and permanent repairs to <br /> the structure would be necessary to keep it safe for public use. <br /> 8/9/07 Letter sent to Glenna Ashley stating that repairs as outlined by structural engineer <br /> be made no later than 2/29/08 and that structure be re-evaluated by same engineer <br /> after repairs were made. <br /> 2/25/08 Received a letter from Joe Cycotte of B.W.C. stating that they had received <br /> contract to proceed with repairs but the project was delayed due to weather. <br /> 4/16/08 Permit issued to Christy Foltz to complete the�emporary repairs outlined by <br /> B.W.C. Drawings indicated permanent repairs needed in 6 months. <br /> 5/29/08 Repairs complete and inspected satisfactorily. <br /> 6/2/08 Letter sent to Glenna Ashley stating that temporary repairs passed inspection but <br /> that permanent repairs would be required no later than 12/O1/08. <br /> 9/23/08 Letter sent to Glenna Ashley reminding her of 12/1/08 deadline and requesting a <br /> plan of action no later than 10/3/08. <br /> 10/15/08 Greg Crowe, Assistant City Manager, and myself inet with Charles Barnes, owner <br /> of the garage, who was accompanied by Steven Thorpe, a real estate consultant. <br /> During the meeting, I reminded Mr. Barnes of the 12/1/08 deadline for making <br /> repairs. Mr. Barnes indicated that he did not have funds available to make the <br /> permanent repairs needed. I indicated to him that if repairs could not be made,there <br /> was a strong possibility that we would have to take steps necessary to close the <br /> facility. Mr. Barnes aware of permanent repairs needed. <br /> 10/16/08 Spoke with Joe Cycotte of B.W.C. who indicated that they had forwarded a report <br /> to Mr. Barnes, which indicated that immediate permanent repairs were needed to <br /> prevent structural failure. <br /> 11/17/08 Met with B.W.C. and Charles Barnes, via telephone for the Barnes facility about <br /> situation. <br /> 11/24/08 As result of 11/17/08 meeting, I sent letter to Charles Barnes requiring: 1) <br />
