2.6 Tr�vel ��:pense: �mployees who travel on business for• the City or who attend a seininai•, conference or training program shall comply with the City Travel Expense Policy. 2.7 Benefits: 2.71 Vacations: The length of annual vacations for 40-hour a weelc employees shall be as follows: (a) After campletion of one year of continuous service uninterrupted by resignation or discharge, 15 duty d1ys; (b) After completion of 10 years of continuous service uninterrupted by resignation or discharge, 20 duty days. (c) After completion of 20 years of continuous service uninterrupted by resignation or discharge, 25 duty days. The length of annual vacations for 56-hour a week employees shall be as follows: (a) After completion of one year of continuous service uninterrupted by resignation or discharge, 7 duty days; (b) After completion of 10 years of continuous service uninten•upted by resignation or discharge, 10 duty days. (c) After completion of 20 years of continuous service uninterrupted by resignation or discharge, 12 duty days. Eligibility for vacations shall be based upon the anniversary service date of the employee. Earned vacation time shall be taken by the employee within 12 months from the date that the same accrues and shall not be accumulated and carried from one 12 month period to the next except in rare cases with the approval of the City Manager. Vacations shall not be taken without the prior approval of the employee's immediate supervisor . Without extenuating circumstances, employees will not be permitted to carry forward more than one (1) weelc of vacation time from one year to the next. Extenuating circumstances are those beyond the control of the employee, in the judgment of the City Manager. 2.72 Sicl< Leave: Full-time, 40 hour-a-week employees shall accrue sick leave at the t•ate of one duty day for each month Of COI1t111U0US service uninterrupted by resignation or discharge up to a maximum accumulation of 240 days.
