The time required to deplete this <br /> storage volume will also be estimated based on the volume of available reservoir storage <br /> within this elevation range. <br /> The Engineer will also evaluate the need for replacing the existing bar screen on the <br /> emergency intake with a screen that would reduce the potential for transporting fish to <br /> the wet well and on to the SWTP. The Engineer will provide an opinion of probable cost <br /> for a new screen and other modifications necessary to facilitate use of the emergency <br /> intake. <br /> Since the emergency intake is located near the bottom of Lake Decatur, the water <br /> c 1 <br /> ou d otentiall contain hi her than normal concentrations of sus ended solids and <br /> P Y g P <br />, other contaminants that would adversely affect treatment. It is possible that dredging an <br /> area adjacent to the intake would reduce the tendency for bottom sediments and <br /> suspended solids to enter the intake. The Engineer will provide an opinion as to the <br /> appropriate depth and volume of dredging in the area east of the Highway 51 Bridge, and <br /> the feasibility of having the Owner conduct the dredging. '� <br /> The Engineer will review SWTP operating records for historic periods of high II <br /> suspended solids and determine whether or not supplemental measures were taken to <br /> treat the water. The Engineer will provide an opinion as to the ability of the plant to <br /> properly treat the expected quality of the water delivered through the emergency intake, <br /> and possible operational adjustments. <br /> The work conducted in this task will be summarized in a draft technical <br /> memorandum submitted to the Owner for review and comments, which will be addressed <br /> in a final technical memorandum (15 copies). The Engineer will attend one meeting with <br /> the Owner to present the draft technical memorandum and receive comments. The <br /> Engineer will also attend one meeting to present the final technical memorandum. <br /> Task 3—Update Concept and Cost of a New Water Intake Structure <br /> The Engineer will review and revise, if necessary,the Engineer's 2003 concept for <br /> a proposed new water intake structure that would be located approximately 1,300 feet <br /> upstream of the Highway 51 Bridge (Option D). The low water withdrawal design <br /> elevation of this concept is Elev. 602.75. The concept will be revised as necessary to <br /> accommodate a design intake elevation at Elev. 600.00, including possible dredging <br /> adjacent to the proposed intake.
