Decatur Police Department Executive Summary <br /> The Space Program also requires 150-200 cars for staff and authorized police vehicles. The only way <br /> to provide that on this block is with a parking deck which works functionally very well at the south side <br /> of the block and would provide both open and covered parking for staff and authorized vehicles. <br /> The ultimate master site plan recommends the eventual closing of Washington Street for additional public <br /> parking and plaza development with a future sheriff s expansion which bridges Water Street(tying into <br /> the jail and vehicle sallyport). This master site plan also provides horizontal expansion of this police <br /> facility. <br /> The recommended construction budget for the police building including site development and <br /> construction contingencies is $16,829,583. <br /> The additional cost budget for a 200 car parking deck is$3Z million. <br /> Additional project costs for the professional fees, furniture,equipment, and contingencies should be <br /> budgeted for 15-20%over and above the construction cost. <br /> Schedule/Delivery Options <br /> A typical design-bid-build project estimates 30 months from RFP for architect selection through design, <br /> bidding,and construction. <br /> A modified design-bid-build which brings the builder on board during design(A2-NST)or a design- <br /> build with bridging documents(C3)have the effect of maintaining higher quality with greater cost and <br /> schedule control, less cost surprises and faster(23 months)occupancy. <br /> PS.1 � Dewberry <br /> 0.2 <br />
