. � • I'i <br /> Schmidt Contractors is a respected bridge contractor in the area. They do a significant amount <br /> of bridge work for IDOT and Macon County. The County Engineer has indicated that they <br /> have performed well on several bridge projects in the County. The Illinois Department of <br /> Transportation has sufficient funding and is prepared to proceed with the bridge deck <br /> replacement with 80%Federal funding ($570,251.60) and a 20% City match($142,562.90) <br /> upon authorization from the City to proceed. City staff recommends an authorization to expend � <br /> up to $150,000 in City funds to provide some contingency for the wark. With funding in place, <br /> City staff will request that IDOT proceed with the project. <br /> The proposed project will replace the deck structure of the bridge consisting of the structural I <br /> deck beams and pavement deck. The work will also include some rip rap placement for scour , <br /> reduction and some work on the creek bed to remove sediment. With the approval of this �, <br /> agreement the project will go forward under the direction of IDOT with immediate site '� <br /> supervision being provided by City Engineering. Project payments will be made by IDOT who I, <br /> will then bill the City for its share of the construction cost. � <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known ob'ections to this resolution. Funds to pay the City's matching <br /> share are budgeted in the General Capital Project Fund.
