5. Determine the control signals necessary to provide manual remote operation '
of the DeWitt wells from the South Water Treatment Plant. Automatic remote
operation will not be considered.
6. Consult with Owner's independent SCADA system consultant to determine
their recommended telemetry methods for providing manual remote operation.
7. Provide conceptual level cost estimates for the initial capital costs for
installation of new remote control equipment.
8. Recommend alternative devices for metering the discharge from individual
wells. Assume that drawings aze available from Owner showing arrangement
of discharge piping from well pumps to determine the best locations for new
meters.
9. Provide conceptual level cost estimates for the initial capital costs for
, installation of new flow metering equipment for individual well pump
discharges.
C. Hydrology
1. Review available well construction details, local well test data, well field
operational data, and regional hydrogeological information on the Mahomet
aquifer system. Estimate the current and recommended production capacity
for each well, and for the well field as a whole.
2. Review available records regarding complaints and mitigation of third party
wells resulting from operation of the DeWitt wells. Investigate and describe
possible impacts caused by operation of the DeWitt wells on the overlying
Glasford aquifer using available data. Make recommendations about the
possible use of monitoring wells or other means to collect data to support
Owner in dealing with possible future third party claims.
3. Investigate and consult with the Illinois State Water Survey about possible
beneficial and non-beneficial impacts caused by operation of Cisco Well No. 2
D. EnvironmentalIssues
1. Review the most recent water quality data that is currently available for the
DeWitt wells. Recommend additional water quality parameters that should be
collected or analytical tests that should be performed, if any, including the ',
frequency of collection, from each of the DeWitt wells.
A-3
City of Decatur Task Order No. 10
DeWitt Well Field Study Rev.08-17-06
