Lincoln Library and
Museum Curator Kim Bauer will lead future efforts.
➢ Over the next several months Mr. Bauer will meet with local, state and
national groups to develop a plan for developing and promoting the city's
Lincoln heritage. Those plans will be presented to the Decatur City Council
and, if approved,implemented.
➢ The position of Director for the Decatur Abraham Lincoln Heritage project I
will be discontinued once plans have been implemented. This is expected to ',
occur by 2009/2010 ,
Address FinanciaUBudgeting Issues—As per council's request, this year we will '
begin providing five-year revenue and expense projections in an effort to better plan
for the future.
Implementation: Summer 2006
Action Plan:
➢ In late June or Early July of this year we will hold our first session providing
multi-yeaz revenue and expense projections in order to better plan for the
future.
➢ In February in each coming year, prior to the opening of budget discussions,
we will hold a similar session so that council members can be better prepared
to make budget decisions.
Hold Disaster Readiness Study Sessions—Council members have requested a
study session to generally outline city plans for responding to and recovering from a
catastrophic event, either man-made or otherwise(i.e.tornado, avian flu, etc.)
Implementation: June 2006
Action Plan:
➢ Over the next couple of weeks city staff will contact various local agencies,
including the Macon County Health Department and ESDA about scheduling
one or a series of sessions addressing various topics related to disaster
response.
