1. The collection of recyclable materials from locations specifically designated by the <br /> parties; and <br /> 2. Processing and marketing of the recyclable materials. <br /> Rec�ling Containers: Uniform containers similar to the red containers 18 gallon <br /> capacity, as approved by the City, to be used for storage of recyclable materials by the � <br /> residents of dwellings. <br /> Rec ��g Coordinator: Person appointed by the City from time to time as Recycling <br /> Coordinator. In the absence of the Recycling Coordinator,the Director of Community <br /> � Development shall act as Recycling Coordinator, and in the absence of both the <br /> Recycling Coordinator and the Director of Community Development, the Assistant City <br /> Manager shall act as Recycling Coordinator. <br /> Residential: Premises occupied by six or fewer living units. Routes predominantly <br /> serving residential premises. Areas predominantly consisting of residential premises. <br /> II. COMMENCEMENT, TERM <br /> 2.1 The term of this agreement shall be for five years commencing in October l, 2004 <br /> and expiring at midnight September 30, 2009;unless terminated earlier as herein <br /> provided or terminated as provided in Section XII. <br /> III. COLLECTION, FREQUENCY, DISTRICT, COLLECTION <br /> POINT, RECYCLING CONTAINERS OWNERS�IIP, ALTERNATE <br /> COLLECTION POINTS, PLASTICS <br /> 3.1 Contractor shall be the exclusive recycling collector from every dwelling within <br /> the City limits of Decatur. Contractor shall be responsible for collecting from dwellings <br /> in each collection route all recyclable materials which have been placed at the collection <br /> point,whether or not in recycling containers, during the collection hours on the <br /> designated day for the collection route,provided that Contractor shall not be required to <br /> collect recyclable materials not clearly marked for collection. <br /> 3.2 Contractor shall provide and furnish all labor, materials, tools, expendable <br /> equipment and supplies, vehicles, and transportation services. <br /> 3.3 Contractor shall establish `hard and fast' routes for collection that will enable <br /> residents to regulate themselves according to the process. Recyclable materials shall be <br /> collected from all participating dwellings on each collection route once each week, on <br /> the designated collection day. Contractor shall strive to be as consistent as possible in <br /> collection days and routes. This would also help in easily identifying areas <br /> participating in the program. <br /> 3 <br />
