This tosk will last approximately six (b) weeks. <br /> Task 1.1 Data Collection - HOK and DSI will provide a checklist of desired information to The <br /> City to assist in obtaining all necessary base maps, land use data, ownership information, <br /> construction plans, State highway plans, existing tra�c counts& projections, current& <br /> future projects, survey and other information pertinent to development of The Urban <br /> Corridors Plan. HOK and DSI will compile and review all of the available planning and <br /> transportation data,which has been provided and made available by The City and the <br /> Illinois Department of Transportation for the study. <br /> • Review all of the information provided and made available to HOK and DSI. <br /> • Compile and prepare preliminary assessments of the information. <br /> • Determine any additional information requirements for the preparation of The Urban <br /> Corridors Plan Phase 2. <br /> Task 1.2 Site and Visual Character Analysis- HOK will review the physical context of The <br /> Urban Corridors with a particular emphasis on the important physical elements, both <br /> naturai and man-made. This effort will also include an examination of transportation <br /> access to the immediate surroundings of the area and the relationship to adjacent <br /> residential, commercial and other land uses. The important visual aspects of The <br /> Corridors, especially with regard to the viewer,the vantage point and the quality of the <br /> view, both to and from will be documented and analyzed utilizing graphic and written <br /> material with both ground and aerial photography. <br /> • Visit the sites with the project team to identify the important physical and visual elements. <br /> • Prepare an inventory and analysis of the elements in the project area including: <br /> -Vegetation and landscape plantings <br /> - Condition of pavement, curbs and sidewalks. <br /> - Inventory existing Buildings, structures and improvements <br /> - Identify adjacent land use, development type and character, <br /> - Analyze site access, <br /> - Inventory driver experience of The Corridor, views to The Corridor, <br /> - Identify corridor signage, graphics and other significant visual elements in The Corridor. <br /> - Map& Identify Existing zoning regulations <br /> - Identify opportunities and constraints. <br /> Task 13 Issues Identification - Based on the preliminary review and analysis of the information <br /> collected in the previous Tasks, HOK and DSI will identify both the current and future <br /> significant issues which affect The Urban Corridors&the Three Target Areas. <br /> • Develop preliminary graphics,which illustrate the key issues of the project area. <br /> • Determine a preliminary set of project goals and objectives for The Urban Corridors. <br /> • Prepare a Workshop Agenda for review with the Steering Committee and City Staff. <br /> • Prepare materials to be reviewed in the Workshop. <br /> Task 1.4 Market Research & Studies for the Three Target Areas - Market studies for each of <br /> the Three Target Areas would be the analysis phase of all the research gathered above. <br /> Based on conditions,trends, projections, and the economic climate—coupled with <br /> anticipated improvements to the urban corridors themselves—we will: <br /> page 2 of 10 <br />
