� BUFFER YARD: An open, landscaped area,not located on public right-of-way,providing a
<br /> transition and screening between high intensity/high density uses or districts and low
<br /> intensity/low density uses or districts, on which there are no structures or pazking areas other
<br /> than fences or landscape features.
<br /> BLTILDING: Any structure that is principally above ground and is enclosed by walls and a roof,
<br /> including manufactured housing and prefabricated housing units, designed or built for the
<br /> support, enclosure, shelter, or protection of persons, animals, chattels or property of any kind.
<br /> For putposes of Section XXVI of this ordinance, Floodplain Management, this term also
<br /> includes recreational vehicles and travel trailers to be installed on a site for more than 180
<br /> days.
<br /> BUILDING ENVELOPE: The area in which a building may be erected on a lot, said area
<br /> formed by the lines of required front,rear and side setbacks.
<br /> BUILDING, HEIGHT OF: The vertical distance from the surrounding grade to the highest point
<br /> of the coping of a flat roof or to the deck line of a mansard roof, or to the mean height level
<br /> between eaves and ridge for gable,hip and gambrel roofs.
<br /> BLTILDING MATERIALS SALES: E�tablishments engaged primarily in the sale of lumber and
<br /> associated products to the public They may sell rough or dressed lumber and plywood,
<br />' flooring, doors,molding, doors, sashes, frames, and similar goods.
<br /> BUII,DING LINE: A line delineated on a plat which designates the minimum setback area
<br /> between the front of the main building and the lot line abutting the public right-of-way. '
<br /> � Where a building line on a plat conflicts with the setback regulations required herein, the
<br /> more restrictive shall apply, subject to the exceptions enumerated in Section XXI
<br /> BiJILDING,MAIN: A building in which is conducted the principal or main use of the lot on
<br /> which it is located. Wherever the words main and principal are used in this Ordinance to
<br /> describe a building, they shall have the same meaning.
<br /> BUSINESS SERVICE ESTABLISHMENTS: Businesses that provide services to other
<br /> businesses or the general public that, by nature, require business to be carried on off-site or
<br /> require patrons to visit the establishment. For the purpose of this Ordinance, there are two
<br /> categories of business service establishments:
<br /> On-Site: Business service establishments that customarily occupy standard office space that
<br /> generally require patrons to visit the establishment to receive services, and do not require the
<br /> outdoor storage of supplies or use of vehicles other than automobiles or small vans.
<br /> Examples of these establishments include,but are not limited to,bail bonding establishments,
<br /> blueprinting and photocopying services, caterers (not including in-shop dining or carry-out),
<br /> collection services, detective agencies and protective services (not including armored car or
<br /> guard dog services), messenger services,packaging services, talent agencies, and ticket
<br /> brokers.
<br /> Off-Site: Business services which are generally carried on off-site, and due to equipment and
<br /> vehicle storage or to processes used, typically require facilities in addition to standard office
<br /> space. Examples of these establishments include, but are not limited to, armored car
<br /> � services, automobile claim adjustment, cleaning and maintenance services (excluding repair)
<br /> pest control businesses, swimming pool cleaning and maintenance services, and water
<br /> softening services.
