Task 2: Space Needs Analysis and Work Group Physical Relationshi�s <br /> Space requirements will be coordinated with Task 1 data by means of questionnaires, interviews, <br /> and a series of worksessions. Municipal Services' current and future equipment and material <br /> storage needs will be evaluated. Information on Police Department crime and calls for service, <br /> historical and existing police staff size, and related growth projections also will be needed. Fire <br /> Department emergency response and apparatus requirements will be determined and recorded. <br /> Resulting space projections will be tabulated by department and work group in net and gross area <br /> requirements for 10 and 20 years. Departmental relationship diagrams will be developed to scale <br /> representing the appropriate proximity of each work group with associated groups. <br /> Task 3: Council Chambers Design Studx <br /> PSA will prepare up to three design concept alternatives for Council Chambers. The design intent <br /> will be to modernize the Chambers and incorporate audio/visual capabilities. The alternatives <br /> will include one option at the Library, one option at the Civic Center and a third option if <br /> necessary at either location. This work is anticipated to be completed within three months of the <br /> execution of this agreement. <br /> Task 4: Parkin� Needs Analysis <br /> Parking quantity, security, and cost requirements will be tabulated for employee parking, city <br /> vehicles, and public to meet the needs as defined in Task 1 and Task 2. <br /> Task 5: Existing Facility and Site Analysis <br /> Prepare floor plan and site plan drawings for existing facilities, based on exisitng drawings being <br /> made available by the City, and tabulate existing parking and building space utilization of the <br /> existing site plans and building floor plans. Buildings to be thus documented will include the <br /> following: <br /> 1. Civic Center <br /> 2. Municipal Service Center <br /> 3. Law Enforcement Center including off-site facility at the Decatur Industry and <br /> Technology Center for aminunition and bicycles <br /> 4. Fire Station No. 1 Administration Area and off-site training facilities <br /> 5. 30,000 s.f. of unleased space in Decatur Public Library <br /> Task 6: Access, Securitv, and Communication <br /> PSA will evaluate,report on, and make recommendations on accessibility by Decatur <br /> residents to each deparhnent to include ADA access. The report also will address access by <br /> City Staff from the facility to the area of work or service to residents. PSA will evaluate, <br /> report on, and make recommendations on security of existing facilities with respect to access <br /> control, CCTV monitoring, and building invasion detection. PSA will evaluate,report on, <br /> and make recommendations on communication capability and technology in existing <br /> facilities. <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br />
