We will keep you advised as to the status of the budget for review of shop drawings and change orders and will bill you for actual time spent and direct expenses, which may be more or less than budgeted. MWH office staff will also be available to address questions that may arise in the field during construction. This includes senior construction management personnel, civil/structural engineers,geotechnical engineers,and other support staff as needed for particular situations that may arise. We have budgeted 24 hours of senior engineer time for this effort. At the completion of construction, MWH will prepare record drawings using prints of the construction drawings marked-up by the Contractor to show the actual conditions as constructed (as reported by the Contractor). MWH will prepare and submit two(2)sets of draft record prints to the City for review,then one original mylar and two(2)sets of prints of the final drawings that incorporate the City's comments. A total of 8 hours of engineering time and 24 hours of drafting time have been budgeted for this task. Task 2—Field Support During Construction MWH will attend monthly meetings at the site with the City and the Contractor during construction to discuss the progress of the work, payment requests, and any actual or potential construction problems and their resolution. MWH will prepare and issue minutes of these meetings. These meetings are anticipated to include a project start-up meeting, two interim meetings(end of one month and end of two months)and a substantial completion inspection(at approximately three months after start of construction). We anticipate that the City will have a Project Representative or Coordinator at the site during construction to observe the Contractor's work during construction,provide quality control and quality assurance,and to address day-to-day construction issues. If desired,MWH can provide a full time Resident Project Representative with terms provided upon request. In addition, MWH will make visits to the site at critical points in the construction, when requested by the City, if they do not coincide with the monthly meetings. For this effort, we have budgeted two additional visits to the site by two engineers. These site visits may also be used to assess unexpected or unusual conditions that may be discovered during the course of the work, with which the City would like MWH's assistance in resolving. When the work is deemed substantially complete by the Contractor,MWH will inspect the site with the City and prepare a punch list of items to be completed to meet Substantial Completion requirements.
