Newell, P.E., City Engineer �,�,v( SUBJECT: Miscellaneous Manhole Replacement, City Project 2001-41 SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended b staff that the Ci Council a rove the attached resolution awarding the Y h' PP contract for Miscellaneous Manhole Replacement, City Project 2001-41, to Bodine Services, Inc., as the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of $48,915.00, and that the Mayor be authorized to execute the contract, and the City Clerk to attest. BACKGROUND: City staff has identified manholes at various locations that are structurally unsound and in need of replacement. This project will replace the manholes that have been identified to date and provides a pricing structure and contract language to enable the repair of other manholes and sewer lines that may be identified with structural problems. The project specifications were prepared by the Engineering Division. The project was advertised on September 19, 2001 and bids were opened on October 8, 2001. The results of the letting are as follows (bid tabulation attached): Compared to Engineer's Est.
