The above goals will be accomplished by HOK who will provide a team of designers with urban design, land use,traffic &transportation, streetscape and master planning expertise for the project to accomplish the following: • Evaluate site conte�and conditions, • Inventory current conditions related to transportation facilities along the corridors, • Evaluate existing land use conditions, • Prepare a conceptual corridor/streetscape improvement pian, • Facilitate Public/Community/Participation Workshops, • Convey a design theme and character for the corridors, • Develop landscape/planting concepts, • Identify the initial and subsequent phases of development, • Recommend implementation strategies. HOK has a philosophy of involving the Client in the design process and,therefore, has included site visits and work sessions at critical milestones in the development of the Urban Corridors Plan for input, review and decisions from the Client and City residents. This schedule/work plan (see Attachment B) assumes that the Client wiil furnish a base map of the project area and any other pertinent base map information such as existing facilities, current land use density and zoning regulations,transportation or utility infrastructure,topographic, map, etc. HOK will assist in the creation of a base map suitable for the purpose ofthis study. Detailed Master Planning, Environmental Studies, Market Feasibility Analysis, Detailed Site Engineering and Utility Studies are not included in this proposal. The project schedule does include time for govemment agency reviews and assumes that the Client can give HOK approval to proceed within the time frame stated. We understand the prescribed Urban Design/Master Planning Services will commence in August 2001 and be approximately thirty (30) weeks in duration with anticipated conclusion before the end of February 2002, as indicated in the attached Schedule/Work Plan (Attachment 'B'). These Services will be performed as described below. PROJECT SCOPE OF WORK (BASIC SERVICES) SCOPE OF WORK FOR URBAN CORRIDORS PLAN (US 36& US 51� Task 1.0 - Inventory, Analysis. This task will last a�proximately six �, weeks. HOK will review, compile and assess the available planning inforrnation,visit both of the corridor areas of Business US 51 (from I-72 to Grove Road) & US 36 (from I-72 to the City Limits near IL 121) with the design team. Prepare preliminary analyses, identify issues associated with The Corridors and review this information with City Staff and the Steenng Committee. Conduct a public participation kick-off meeting to review inventory&analysis and conduct a goal-setting workshop. Clearly establish a basis for determining the conceptual approaches for the Altemative Corridor Plan Development.
