construction plans, State highway plans, existing traffic counts& projections, current&future <br /> projects, survey and other inforrnation pertinent to development of The Urban Corridors Plan. <br /> HOK and CBB will compile and review all ofthe available planning and transportation data, <br /> which has been provided and made available by The City and the Illinois Department of <br /> Transportation for the study. <br /> • Meet with officials from relevant Govemment authorities and agencies. <br /> • Review all of the inforrnation provided and made available to HOK and CBB. <br /> • Compile and prepare preliminary assessments of the information. <br /> • Determine any additional information requirements for the preparation of The Urban <br /> Corridors Plan. <br /> Task 1.2 Corridors Tra�c Activit�- CBB will review and document current and projected counts <br /> by The City and State, along with other information obtained from previous studies in the area <br /> and use this information to project near-term and long-term traffic conditions in The Urban <br /> Comdors pro�ect area. <br /> • Prepare an analysis of the current and projected traffic volumes for The Corridors. <br /> Task 1.3 Site and Visual Character Analysis - HOK and CBB will review the physical context of <br /> The Urban Corridors with a particular emphasis on the important physical elements, both <br /> natural and man-made. This effort will also include an examination of transportation access to <br /> the immediate surroundings of the area and the relationship to adjacent residential, <br /> commercial and other land uses. The important visual aspects of The Corridors, especially <br /> with regard to the viewer,the vantage point and the quality of the view, both from and to will <br /> be documented and analyzed utilizing graphic and written material with both ground and aerial <br /> photography. <br /> • Visit The Urban Corridors with the project team to identify the important physical and <br /> visual elements. <br /> • Prepare a block-by-block inventory and analysis ofthe elements in the project area <br /> including: <br /> - Vegetation and landscape piantings <br /> - Condition of pavement, curbs and sidewalks. <br /> - Inventory existing Buildings, structures and improvements <br /> - Identify adjacent land use, development type and character, <br /> - Analyze site access, <br /> - Inventory driver experience of The Corridor, views to The Corridor, <br /> - Inventory fencing and screening devices, <br /> - Identify corridor signage, graphics and other significant visual elements in The Corridor. <br /> - Map& Identify Existing zoning regulations <br /> - Identify opportunities and constraints. <br /> Tosk 1.4 Issues Identi ficotion - Based on the preliminary review and analysis of the information <br /> collected in the previous Tasks, HOK and CBB will identify both the current and future <br /> significant issues which affect The Urban Corridors. <br /> • Develop preliminary graphics, which illustrate the key issues of the project area. <br /> • Determine a preliminary set of project goals and objectives for The Urban Corridors. <br /> • Prepare a Workshop Agenda for review with the Steering Committee and City Staff. <br /> • Prepare materials to be reviewed in the Workshop. <br /> page 3 of 16 <br />
