The City desires a consulting process whereby the experience of the '� <br /> consultant results in new approaches toward corridor design and land use that �, <br /> will improve the function and appearance of the corridors within the study area. ', <br /> Consultants preparing a proposal for this project will be encouraged to go beyond <br /> the basic structure of this scope of services and suggest specific tasks that have <br /> proven to be successful in other cities, provided that such tasks can be <br /> accomplished within the project budget. <br /> Oversight <br /> Oversight of the Business 51/ US 36 project will be provided by City staff and a <br /> steering committee. The Steering Committee will consist of local business <br /> interests, representatives of neighborhood groups along the corridors, property <br /> owners, representatives of the development community, and members of the City <br /> Plan Commission and City Council. The West Main Street portion of the project <br /> will be overseen by City Staff and the Historic and Architectural Sites Commission <br /> of Decatur. <br /> City Responsibilities <br />� The City will provide digital base maps of the corridor areas in AutoCAD and <br /> ArcView formats. Aerial photographs in digital format will also be provided. City <br /> staff will provide support to the consultant as needed.
