Applicant: Decatur Youth Agency <br /> Project: Comprehensive Behavioral Assessment and Counseling (15) <br /> Recommended award: $10,126.61 <br /> Prior Funding Received: No (This is a first year request.) <br /> The Decatur Youth Agency's Comprehensive Behavioral Assessment and Counseling Proj ect is <br /> designed to provide behavioral assessments of at-risk children ages 5-12 who attend Decatur Public <br /> Schools. The program includes a counseling component to involve the parents of each referred child,to <br /> aid in applying leamed techniques to everyday home and school life. Funding is for a program coordinator. <br /> 13. Applicant.• Youth Advocate Program,Inc. <br /> Project: Delinquent Youth Work Program(17) ' <br /> Recommended award: $7,789.96 <br /> Prior Funding Received: Yes (Funds were received in 1999. This is a second year request.) <br /> T'he Youth Advocate Progratn(YAP)provides gainful sumtner employment for delinquent youth by I', <br /> hiring them to do yard work and other chores for elderly and/or disabled citizens. YAP staffprovide �I <br /> supervision and equipment for the youth. Approximately 8 youths are employed and 20 elderly/disabled '' <br /> residents are assisted each summer. <br /> 14. Applicant: Youth With A Positive Direction (YWAPD) <br /> Project: Family Support (After School Alternative Educational Program) (18) <br /> Recommended award: $15,029.83 <br /> Prior Funding Received: Yes (Funds were received in 1999 and 2000. This is a third <br /> consecutive year request.) <br /> YWAPD's program serves youth and families at risk of abuse and/or neglect and special needs youth <br /> in the Old King's Orchard neighborhood. Services it provides include a perfornung arts program for the <br /> youth,an intergenerational computer center,an after school tutoring program,life skills education,and <br /> recreational and sports activities. Approximately200 youth and 75 parents/caregivers are currentlybeing <br /> served. <br />
