r
EXCERPTS OF THE
MINUTES OF THE MEETING
OF THE
TRAFFIC AND PARKING COMMISSION
Wednesday, June 11, 2002
Engineering Conference Room
Second Floor, Civic Center
ITEM # 1 Request for stop signs to replace existing yield signs at the intersection of
17th and Lincoln.
Mr. Newell opened the meeting stating that the City had received a request from a concerned
citizen asking that stop signs be installed to replace the existing yield signs at the intersection of
17th and Lincoln streets. This intersection has experienced a high number of accidents than
what is expected of an intersection with this traffic volume. Staff recommends that stop signs
replace the yield signs presently posted. Battalion Chief Gillen stated that the Fire Department
agreed with staff's recommendation. Jimmy Sober made a motion that stop signs be posted
and Deputy Chief Walker seconded.
1
