Bauer, I <br /> who determined a quorum present. '�, <br /> Members Present: Citizens: Ron Ballard, Phil Bauer, Jimmy Sober, April Veteto, I, <br /> Staff Fire Battalion Chief Jim Gillen, William Ratekin,Rich Ryan; I <br /> Joselyn Stewart ' <br /> Absent: Don Wenneker <br /> Other Staff Present: Sharon Schneider <br /> Citizens present: Jean Baker, Sue Lake, Mary Alice Brenner, Karen Bay, Jerome Pelz, Ron <br /> Ross, representative from Choice Properties, Inc., (si�ature ille�ible). <br /> Mr. Bauer opened the meeting statin� that the objective of this Commission is to be the <br /> investigative arm of the City Council. Citizens submit requests to City En,ineering and staff <br /> investigates and performs traffic counts and notifies interested parties for their input and then the <br /> Commission makes recommendations to the City Council. <br /> ITENI # 1 Request from the Old Kings Orchard Community Center for All-Way Stop <br /> Signs. <br /> William Ratekin stated that he had received a request from the Director of the Old Kings Orchard <br /> Community Center to put up four way stops at the intersections of Church and Green and College <br /> and King Streets. With re�ard to Church and Green, traffic counts and accident counts were <br /> performed and staff recommends that stop si�s be installed on Church Street to allow the traffic <br /> on Green Street to go throu�h. � <br /> Mr. Ron Ross, Director of the Old Kin;s Orchard Community Center addressed the Commission <br /> and stated that he has 50-60 children in an After School Pro�am at the Center. He would like to <br /> see a stop si�n and crosswalk to slow down the traffic in this area. <br /> Mr. Ratekin commented that staff has discussed the possibility of placin� a pedestrian crosswalk <br /> across Green Street to further aid in NIr. Ross' request. Staff has no opposition to placin� a <br /> crosswalk any time there are children involved. Speeds in this area were not high. <br /> 1 <br />
