Decatur City Plan Commission <br /> June 6, 2002 <br /> Page Five <br /> It is staff's recommendation that the rezoning from B-1 to B-2 be approved. The 1960 Zoning <br /> Ordinance requires the Plan Commission to hold a public hearing and make a report b the City <br /> Council regarding a rezoning petition. ', <br /> Mr. Robert Graven, 375 North 22nd Street,was present and spoke for the petition stating that he ', <br /> and the co-owner of the property have spent $20,000 on improvements and will continue to ', <br /> upgrade the property. ', <br /> There were no objectors present. <br /> It was moved and seconded(Sands/Nordholm)to forward Cal. No. 02-26 to City Council with <br /> recommendation for approval. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Mr. Van Steenhuyse reported that the City Plan Commission By-laws had been on review for 30 <br /> days. Staff requested adoption of the amended By-laws. <br /> Mrs. Sands asked what was different. Mr. Van Steenhuyse stated that the prior By-laws had not <br /> been amended since 1980 and the changes involved updating names of the City Departments and <br /> staff persons as well as eliminating inconsistencies with current regulations. <br /> Mrs. Sands asked about Section 5 and the withdraw of a petition by the petitioner. Mr. Van <br /> Steenhuyse stated that there would be no need for action in that instance. Mrs.Morthland stated <br /> that this Plan Commission has allowed petitioners to withdraw their petitions. <br /> Mr. John inquired about the reference to Cl and C2. Mr. Van Steenhuyse stated that the <br /> previous By-laws did not address approval of the minutes. The items should be D1 and D2. <br /> It was moved and seconded(Naber/Sands)to approve the City Plan Commission By-laws as <br /> amended and the changes of Sections C1 and C2 to D1 and D2. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Mr. Shampine welcomed the new members Glen Nordholm and Bernie Naber.
