ADDITIONS AND <br /> ZONING ORDINANCE <br /> - SECTION XXIII - <br /> - TERM OF CHAIRMAN- <br /> A. ORGA1�tIZATION: A Board of Appeals is hereby established. The <br /> word "Board", when used in this section, shall be construed to mean the <br /> Board of Appeals. Said Board shall consist of seven members appointed by <br /> the Mayor with the approval of the Council. The term of office of each <br /> member shall be five years except that the seven members first appointed <br /> shall serve respectively for terms of one, two, three, four, five, six and seven <br /> years. Thereafter, as each term expires, the appointment shall be for five <br /> years. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term of the member whose <br /> place has become vacant. The Chairman holds office for a two-year term. The <br /> Chairman shall serve no more than two (2) years out of any consecutive four <br /> 4 ears. <br /> Meetings of the Board shall be held at the call of the Chairman and at <br /> such other times the Board may determine. The chairman, or in his absence <br /> the acting chairman, may administer oaths and compel the attendance of <br /> witnesses. All meetings of the Board shall be open to the public. The Board <br /> shall keep minutes of its proceedings, showing the vote of each member upon <br /> each question or, if absent or failing to vote, indicating such fact, and shall <br /> keep records of its examinations and other official actions, all of which shall <br /> be immediately filed in the office of the Board and shall be a public record. <br />
