ADDITIONS AND ZONING ORDINANCE - SECTION XXIII - - TERM OF CHAIRMAN- A. ORGA1�tIZATION: A Board of Appeals is hereby established. The word "Board", when used in this section, shall be construed to mean the Board of Appeals. Said Board shall consist of seven members appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council. The term of office of each member shall be five years except that the seven members first appointed shall serve respectively for terms of one, two, three, four, five, six and seven years. Thereafter, as each term expires, the appointment shall be for five years. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term of the member whose place has become vacant. The Chairman holds office for a two-year term. The Chairman shall serve no more than two (2) years out of any consecutive four 4 ears. Meetings of the Board shall be held at the call of the Chairman and at such other times the Board may determine. The chairman, or in his absence the acting chairman, may administer oaths and compel the attendance of witnesses. All meetings of the Board shall be open to the public. The Board shall keep minutes of its proceedings, showing the vote of each member upon each question or, if absent or failing to vote, indicating such fact, and shall keep records of its examinations and other official actions, all of which shall be immediately filed in the office of the Board and shall be a public record.
