4.9 Should any of the holidays occur on a regularly scheduled collection day, it is the <br /> responsibility of the Contractor to reschedule the collection day and inform the City as well as <br /> residents (via public notice) of the holiday collecrion day five working days before the holiday. <br /> � The Contractor shall give notice for publication of their scheduled collections due to a holiday to <br /> the Decatur Herald and Review at least two weeks prior to the holiday in the form of a public <br /> service announcement. A copy of this notice shall be forwarded to the City at least two weeks <br /> prior to the scheduled holiday. <br /> V. COLLECTION VEHICLES, DRIVING LAWS , <br /> 5.1 Only collection vehicles shall be used by Contractor for collection of recyclable materials ' <br /> in the City. <br /> 5.2 Each collection vehicle shall be equipped with � <br /> • Warning flashers <br /> • Warning alazms to indicate movement in reverse <br /> • Signs on the rear stating"This Vehicle Makes Frequent Stops" <br /> • A broom and shovel for cleaning up spills. <br /> After consultation with the Contractor the Ciry may hereafter reasonably require other <br /> equipment to be installed on the collection vehiele. Such requirements shall not be unreasonable <br /> in either their scope or expense to the Contractor. <br /> , <br /> 5.3 Contractor shall furnish a complete list and a copy of inspection reports for vehicles to be <br /> used in servicing this agreement upon signin�the contract. The City reserves the right to request <br /> descriptive literature or specification sheets for ea.ch type of vehicle used in the contract. Upon <br /> request of the City, Contractor shall demonstrate that collection equipment is suitable for the <br /> materials to be collected. Contractor shall notify the City if there is any change in the number of <br /> vehicles being used. <br /> 5.4 All vehicles shall be mai.ntained as may now or hereafter be required by any statute, law, <br /> or regulation. All vehicles shall be maintained in good working order and appearance, shall be <br /> kept as free of odor or rust as possible, and shall be clean at the start of each collection day. In <br /> the event that a vehicle is not properly operable, a substitute vehicle shall immediately be provided <br /> that complies with the terms herein. All vehicles shall display the name of the Contractor, a local <br /> phone number, and a vehicle identification number that is clearly visible on both sides. <br /> 5.5 The City shall not adopt any ordinance or rule or regulation regarding collection vehicles <br /> not contained in this Agreement during the term of this Agreement or any extension thereof <br /> regarding maintenance of collection vehicles. Collection vehicles shall be made available for <br /> inspection by the City, or its representatives, at the request of the Recycling Coordinator, and at a <br /> locarion in the City to be designated by the Recycling Coordinator. <br /> 7 <br />
