II. Partner's Responsibilities <br /> A. Definition of Partner and Eligibility. The Partnership for Safe Water is made up of Partners <br /> (Water Suppliers),Nationa( Partners,and Regional Partners. The main role of the Partners is to <br /> carry out the program outlined in this agreement. The main role of the National Partners is to I <br /> develop and oversee the Partnership program. The main role for Regional Partners is I <br /> encouraging and recognizing participation by their members,and developing and implementing � <br /> technical assistance programs to assist their members. To be eligible to become a Partner in the , <br /> program, a Water Supplier must meet the following requirements: I <br /> • be the owner of a treatment p(ant operating on surface water or ground water under the direct <br /> influence of surface water employing conventional filtration,direct or in-line filtration, <br /> pre�ipitative softening,or similar processes. <br /> � be in full compliance with the Surface Water Treatment Rule(SWTR)for the preceding 6 <br /> months, <br /> • agree to use the program's setf-assessment tools, including data collection,to evaluate current <br /> treatment performance and to focus on future treatment improvement, <br /> � agree to future progress in the Partnership for Safe Water Program by undertaking the <br /> various phases of the program through at least the seif-assessment and correction phase, <br /> • agree to pay an annual fee for participation in the Partnership for Safe Water Program, and <br /> • have upper management commitment to the program. <br /> B. Partnership for Safe Water Program Coordinator. The Water Supply Partner agrees to <br /> appoint an individual as designated by Attachment A as their Partnership for Safe Water <br /> Program Coordinator. The Partnership for Safe Water Program Coordinator will be the person <br /> responsible for ensuring that the Water Supply Partner successfully completes its commitments <br /> as stated in this Partnership Agreement. The Partnership for Safe Water Program Coordinator's <br /> responsibilities include: <br /> • coordinating the Water Supply Partner's participation in the Partnership for Safe Water <br /> Program, <br /> • establishing and overseeing the Water Supply Partner's data collection and assessment,and <br /> ' self-assessment and conection plans, <br /> • directing and overseeing completion of implementation plans covering performance limiting <br /> items identified through assessments, <br /> • facilitating communication with the Partnership for Safe Water National Partners and <br /> Partnership for Safe Water Page 3 <br />
