EQUIPMENT ANp PROPERTY MAINTENANCE <br /> 1. inspection of vehictes and equipment, and studying vehicie operation and maintenance <br /> service to determine the safety and adequacy of existing vehicles and ec}uipment <br /> 2, recommendation of vehicle and major equipmen# purchases for transportation and <br /> maintenance operations <br /> 3. direction �nd supervision of purcha$es of minor equipment, toolst supplies, etc. and <br /> purchases of parts, fuel, Oil and lubricants <br /> 4. direcfion and supervision of purcfiases of repair services, as needed <br /> 5. studying vehicls operation and maintenance service to determine the adequacy of <br /> existing maintenance procedures, and corr�ction of procedures where nec�ssary <br /> 6. direction and supervision of buildirrg maintenance operations <br /> 7. recommendation of building/structure corrections or additions as needed <br /> At the requ�st af Ci#y, Manager, under separate agreement and for additional consideration, shal{ <br /> undertake and perform specific projects for City. City and Manager shall mutually agree to the terms <br /> and conditions re(ating�o each special project. <br /> 3. Cammencement and Term <br /> This agreement shail be effective as of December �1, 1�99 and shail remain in effect for the period <br /> ending at 11:59 p.m. on June 30, 2001. Three pre-priced option years may be exercised at the sole <br /> discretion of the City of Decatur. <br /> 4. Residerrt Manager <br /> a. Manager agrees to employ and fumish a fuli-time, quat�ed person to supervise the System on <br /> behalf of Manager (hereinafter referred to as the °Resident Manager"). The Resident Manager <br /> shall reside within the Decatur vicinity; <br /> b. Mr. Richard W. Pitt wil! be the Resident Manager for the City of Decatur's mass transit system <br /> under this contract. Mr. Pitt will not be transferred from this a$signment without written <br /> permission from the City of Decatur. Transfer of Mr. Pitt without written approval of the City of <br /> f�ecatur witl constitute a breach of the contract and de�lt with in accordance with Section 24 of <br /> this agreement. <br /> S. Other Personnel <br /> Manager shall employ during the term of this Agreement such other personnel as sfiall be required from <br /> #ime to time to efficient�y operate#he System. <br /> 3 <br />
