a. Consult with the CTTY and with the Contractor on interpretation of plans and <br /> specifications and regarding any changes under consideration as construction <br /> �roceeds. <br /> b. Provide periodic job site inspection by the Project Manager, or his representatives, <br /> during the construction period. � <br /> c. Prepare and submit all payment estimates, change orders, records, and reports <br /> required by the CITY. <br /> d. Safeguard the CTTY against defects and deficiencies on the part of the contractor, but <br /> the ENGINEER does not guarantee the performance of the contract by the <br /> contractor. <br /> e. Conduct final inspection of construction and prepare final papers and reports. <br /> f. Revise contract drawings to show location and nature of improvement as actually <br /> constructed and supply "as built" drawings to the CI1'Y. <br /> g. Inspect the contractor's operations for compliance with the plans and specifications <br /> and the keeping of complete project records. <br /> h. Check all shop and working drawings. <br /> i. Review and check a11 reports by testing laboratories on equipment and material tested. <br /> 3. Resident Insnection-Provide detailed Resident Inspection Services, during construction of <br /> the proposed improvements, including but not limited to the following: <br /> a. Provide continuous inspection of the work for compliance with plans and <br /> specifications. Such inspection sha11 include those services which are customarily <br /> referred to as detailed resident inspection services provided that the ENGINEER <br /> shall not be responsible for the acts or omissions of any contractor(s), any <br /> subcontractor(s)or any of the contractor(s)' or subcontractor(s)' agents or employees <br /> or any other person (except his own employees and agents) at the project site or for <br /> the supervision, direction, control and work safety of any contractor(s) or for the <br /> construction means, methods, techniques, sequences, or procedures or for safety <br /> precautions or pro�rams incidental to the work of contractor(s) or for any <br /> contractor(s)' failure to perform the construction work in accordance with contract <br /> documents. <br /> b. Keep a daily record or log of the contractor's activities throughout construction <br /> including notations on the nature and cost of any extra work. <br /> c. Supervise all inspectors and other technical personnel assigned to the project. <br /> d.
