, � <br /> C'ITY COUNCII.hIINUTES <br /> l�iONDAY, AUGUST 26, 1996 <br /> On I�fonday, August 26, 1996, the City Council of the City of Decatur, Illinois, met in II <br /> Closed, Executive Session at 6:30 P.M. in the City Council Conference Room, One Gary K. <br /> Anderson Plaza, D�, Illinois. Mayor Terry M. Howley presided; together with him being <br /> Councilmen I1�Lchael T. Carrigan, Lou Ann Jacobs, William M'itchell, Kent N. I�Lttelberg and <br /> William F. Oliver. Councilman Larry W. Foster was absent. Six members were present and one <br /> was absent. Mayor Howley declared a quonun present. <br /> The only item of business was a discussion relative to the selection of an individual to fill a <br /> public office -- namely, City Manager. Other potential candidates, Mr. James W. Antonen, <br /> Moorhead, M'innesota; Mr. 1�Villiam Mitchell, Newport News, Virginia; Mr. James P. Shapard, <br /> Joliet, Illinois; and Mr. �Villiam J. Werner, Kansas City, l��issouri, were discussed. No formal <br /> action was taken. <br /> Councilman Mitchell moved the meeting be reopened to the public; seconded by <br /> Councilman Jacobs, and on call of the roll, Councilmen Carrigan, Jacobs, I�fitchell, Mittelberg, <br /> Oliver, and Mayor Howley voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> The meeting was reopened to the public. <br /> There being no further business, Councilman Mittelberg moved the meeting be adjourned; <br /> seconded by Councilman Oliver, and on call of the roll, Councilmen Canigan, Jacobs, Ivfitchell, <br /> Mittelberg, Oliver, and Mayor Howley voted aye.
