1' <br /> Federal National Prioritv List (NPL i e�Superfund List) /1 .0 Mile: After a facility has <br /> been identified as a CERCLA site, the EPA conducts an assessment of the property. <br /> If the assessment shows contamination, a Hazard Ranking package (HRP) is <br /> completed for possible ranking on the NPL. The degree af contamination <br /> determines whether the site makes the NPL, or federal Superfund as it is commonly , <br /> known, or is referred to the state for further action under state programs. <br /> � <br /> Federal CERCLIS Database / 0.5 Mile: One of the statutory features of the <br /> ,�4� Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) <br /> is the requirement and funding of remedial actions for release or threat of release <br /> �; of hazardous substances, pollutants or contamination which may present imminent <br /> or substantial damage to public health and welfare. This list is a compilation of <br /> those facilities which the EPA has identified as having known or suspected <br /> uncontrolled releases of hazardous substances, contaminants or pollutants. The <br /> list also encompasses all abandoned hazardous waste sites. <br /> Federal RCRA TSD Facilities List / 1 .0 Mile: This is a nationwide database created <br /> ' to maintain and regulate facilities that treat, store or dispose of hazardous waste, . <br /> as defined under the Resource, Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). <br /> �, , . <br /> w� <br /> Federal RCRA Generators List / Site and Adioininq Properties: A nationwide <br /> database of botl� small and large quantity generators of hazardous materials, as <br /> defined under RCRA. <br />;, <br /> Emerqencv Response Notification Svstems (ERNS) / Site Onlv: This is a national <br /> � computer database system that is used to store information on the release of <br /> hazardous substances into the environment. The ERNS reporting system contains <br /> preliminary information on specific releases, including the s��ill location, the <br /> substance released, and the responsible party. <br /> State Superfund / 1 .0 Mile: These state remedial action priority <br /> listings are for hazardous waste sites identified for investigation or <br /> remediation.
