Mechanical dewatering <br /> 2. Landfill (City owned or other) <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer <br /> 4. Combining lime sludge w/sanitary district <br /> digested wastewater sludge for co-disposal <br /> 5. Sludge drying beds <br /> 6. Centrifuging <br /> 7. Recalcination and re-use <br /> 8. Pelletizing - commercial sales <br /> 9. Underground disposal <br /> 10. River discharge - controlled rate <br /> 11 . Recycling for road construction <br /> 12. Coal strip mine reclamation <br /> 13. Sludge storage lagoons/agriculture land <br /> application <br /> 14. Industrial co-gen bed ash neutralization <br /> 15. Strip mine quarry <br /> 16. Sanitary landfill (public) <br /> 17. Incineration/sanitary landfill <br /> 18. Filter press <br /> 19. Competitive cost proposals for beneficial use <br /> E. A detailed analysis of the top ranked three (3) or four (4) <br /> options shall be performed with associated cost including <br /> but not limited to capital investment and 0&M annual <br /> expense. Cost shall be calculated per dry ton of lime <br /> sludge disposal for the next twenty (20) years. <br /> F. Survey six (6) comparable lime softening plants: <br /> The sludge disposal methods used by public water supplies in <br /> and around the State of Illinois shall be documented. <br /> Minimum description shall include past, present and future <br /> sludge disposal methods. Disposal volumes shall be close to <br /> the volumes handled by the Owner. Annual cost and per dry <br /> ton cost shall be included. <br /> II . REPORTING <br /> A. Initial and monthly: <br /> Engineer shall meet with Owner' s staff on an initial <br /> starting date and report on a monthly basis thereafter until <br /> completion. <br /> ii31AC 111494 A-2 <br />
